Anger

Anger knocks on the door—not to tear us apart but to remind us of the fire that lives within.

I’ve been thinking a lot about anger lately. Of all the emotions, it’s the one I’ve struggled with the most—perhaps because it demands to be felt with such intensity, refusing to be silenced or ignored. As the Full Moon in Aries approaches, I find myself reflecting more deeply on what anger truly represents and what it’s here to teach us.

In astrology, Aries is ruled by Mars, the warrior planet. Mars doesn’t simply understand anger—it lives through it, fueling the fires of action and survival. Anger, when viewed through this lens, isn’t merely a reaction. It’s a force that pushes us forward, compelling us to act. It arises when our boundaries have been crossed, when our needs go unmet or when we’ve relinquished our own power in ways we may not even realize.

Anger vibrates at 150 Hz—a frequency of transition. It doesn’t sink to the depths of shame, nor does it ascend to the heights of peace or love. It sits in that in-between space, urging us out of inertia and into life. Anger, then, is the spark that moves us from stagnation into motion, from stillness into action. It knocks on the door of our consciousness, calling us to wake up, to realign with the truth of who we are and where we’ve gone astray.

In ancient times, this wisdom was known. Anger was never meant to be suppressed or dismissed. In Greek philosophy, they spoke of “thumos,” the vital force within, the spirited fire that fueled courage and gave life meaning. Anger wasn’t seen as a flaw but as a sacred force to be harnessed, an energy that, when properly channeled, could transform confusion into clarity, inertia into movement.

Indigenous traditions, too, revered anger as a cleansing fire. Much like the sacred flames used in ritual to purify the spirit, anger rose when balance was disturbed, calling for restoration. It wasn’t an enemy but a protector—a force that sought to restore harmony within and around us. To ignore anger was to ignore the very energy that was working to make things right.

So, when anger rises within you, it’s not a sign that something is wrong. It’s a message from an ancient part of your psyche, revealing what needs to be acknowledged. Anger shows us where we’ve given too much, where we’ve allowed others to overstep, and where we’ve silenced our own voice. It’s the fire that reignites our sense of self-worth, reminding us that we are worthy of being heard, of being seen.

As the Full Moon in Aries approaches, we are invited to confront the places within ourselves where anger has been hidden, dismissed, or feared. Aries, the sign ruled by Mars, understands the purpose of anger better than any other—it knows that anger is not destructive when it is acknowledged. Instead, it becomes a sacred visitor, here to guide us back to balance, to truth, and to ourselves.

Anger is a guide. It’s here to wake you up, to remind you of the power that lies within. When we honor anger’s message, it ceases to be a force of destruction and transforms into a force of clarity, purpose, and deep personal truth.

Anger knocks on the door—not to tear us apart, but to remind us of the fire that lives within us. It’s that very fire that realigns us with who we are, not to destroy, but to wake us up to our potential.
