Right now, many of us feel like we’re standing o Right now, many of us feel like we’re standing on unsteady ground, as though everything we once knew is slipping away. This sensation of feeling lost—disoriented, confused and unsure of what’s coming next—echoes across the collective. These moments signal that profound transformation is underway and in astrology, this is the energy Pluto in Aquarius is about to bring. Next month, Pluto moves into Aquarius, marking the beginning of a new era of collective and personal evolution. Pluto’s energy is never gentle—it demands transformation, stripping away what no longer serves us. It clears out the old, outdated structures and beliefs, making space for something new. For many, this dissolution of the familiar world feels unsettling, as though the foundations we once relied upon are crumbling. Entire systems are undergoing seismic shifts and the unsettling nature of this change is palpable. When Pluto transited Aquarius, in the late 1700s, the world witnessed the American and French revolutions-societies were torn apart but new ideals of freedom and equality were born. Today, we find ourselves at a similar crossroads. The systems we’ve depended on-whether political, social, or personal-are shifting rapidly and with that comes a deep sense of loss. As much as this is a time for innovation, it’s also a time for grieving. The world we grew up in is no longer recognisable. The familiar structures-those that once gave us security-are dissolving and with them, the illusion of stability fades. It’s tempting to hold on to what feels safe, even as it falls apart. But Pluto in Aquarius doesn’t offer the luxury of remaining in the past. These changes, though uncomfortable, are precursors to a future still being shaped, even though we cannot yet see its full form. History reminds us that out of chaos, new worlds are born. We stand in that liminal space between what was and what will be. These are not easy times but they are meaningful. The news—so much noise, conflict and uncertainty—filled the car and instantly shifted my energy. Has it always been like this? Are we simply more aware of it now? Or are we part of the end of something-or a new beginning in disguise? Astrologically, there’s a mirror to these feelings. Pluto, the planet of profound transformation, is in a pivotal transition, moving between Capricorn and Aquarius. Pluto’s slow movement marks the end of one era and the beginning of another. Since 2008, Pluto in Capricorn has been challenging structures, authority and control, making us witness the crumbling of old systems and deep re-evaluations of power. As Pluto moves into Aquarius next month, we’re entering a 20-year cycle that will push us to rethink everything-how we connect, live, engage with technology and ultimately, how we find our place in a rapidly changing world. Each Pluto generation feels these shifts differently. Pluto in Cancer (1912–1939) sought safety and survival in home and family during uncertain times. Pluto in Leo (1939–1957) felt the pressure to stand out and leave a legacy. Pluto in Virgo (1957–1972) pursued order and healing but often faced challenges too large to fully solve. Pluto in Libra (1971–1984), my generation, constantly searches for balance, harmony and fairness—but when the world feels chaotic, finding peace seems elusive. Perhaps the answer lies in knowing when to switch off, when to step back from the noise and demands of life and simply be. Balance isn’t something we achieve and hold onto—it’s a dance, a fluid movement between extremes. Sometimes, the most important act of balance is knowing when to pause, reflect and breathe. While we may not control the outer world, we can always choose how we engage with it.
